The German Ambassador in Tirana, Peter Zingraf, assessed the continuation from Germany of Albania’s support in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic, “as a way to complement the great support that the European Union has given to Albania”, according to official sources from the Ministry of Health.
WHO Representative in Albania, Dr. Bettina Mennen praised the arrival of the German donation of oximeters as “fast and on time”. “In this battle we are together! “No one is safe until we are all safe!”, said Dr. Bettina Mennen, at the handover ceremony of oximeters to the health authorities of Albania. Recent donations in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic are part of a package of more than 10 million euros of German support for Albania that includes advice for small and medium enterprises, additional funding of the Rural Credit Guarantee Fund to mitigate the economic consequences of the pandemic, provide training programs for medical staff, and provide humanitarian assistance to groups in need.
