Albanian poet Luljeta Lleshanaku is one of the candidates for the “European Poet of Freedom 2022” organized in Gdansk, Poland. The award aims to honor and promote phenomena in poetry that address one of the most essential themes for the contemporary reader – freedom – and, at the same time, are characterized by exceptional artistic values. The award can only be given to a living writer from Europe. Lleshanak’s poems have been translated from Albanian into Polish by the well-known translator Dorota Horodynska.
The results of the competition will be announced in the spring of 2022, during the European Poetry Festival of Freedom, organized in Gdańsk.
